October 1999. These pictures are were taken as we traveled to our sampling site in Trinity Bay to deploy the in situ sensor array and the in situ sampler. The system was designed to monitor water column conditions during the passage of a storm. The in situ sensor package includes a CTD (equipped with two transmissometers, an optical back scattering, oxygen, temperature, conductivity, and pressure sensors and a current meter for determination of current direction and speed as well as a high precision pressure sensor for monitoring waves. The sampling system collects 48 samples (100 mL) at predetermined intervals for the determination of nutrients and trace metals.
