Numerous graduate students in the Department of Oceanography are carrying out some of their masters or doctoral research projects using LOER facilities (see below). Since 1989, more than two dozen undergraduate students majoring in Marine Sciences or Marine Biology have been employed by LOER Principal Investigators. Many of them also have carried out independent student projects on related topics. The undergraduate students conduct many of the day-to-day routine sample analysis in the lab and sample collection in the field.
